Tyred Ltd (“Tyred”, “we”, “us”) provides mobile bicycle repair and servicing. For the personal data described in this policy, Tyred Ltd is the data controller. Our registration and contact details are below.

Information we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Account details: your name, email address, phone number and the password credentials used to sign in.
  • Service and location details: the address where you want a mechanic to attend, and details of the bikes you ask us to work on.
  • Booking and subscription history: the services you book, order and repair records, appointment times and communications with us.
  • Payment details: subscription and payment information processed through our payment provider. We do not store your full card details on our own systems.
  • Photos you provide: images of your bike you upload to help identify it or diagnose an issue.
  • Technical and usage data: device, browser and cookie data, and how you use our website (see our Cookie Policy).

How and why we use your information

We use your personal data for the purposes below, each relying on a lawful basis under UK data protection law:

  • To provide the service you ask for - taking bookings, managing your account and subscription, and sending a mechanic to you. Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you.
  • To take payment and manage subscriptions and renewals. Lawful basis: performance of our contract and our legal obligations.
  • To communicate with you about your bookings, account and service updates. Lawful basis: performance of our contract and our legitimate interests in running the service.
  • To operate, secure and improve our website and service, and to prevent fraud and misuse. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests.
  • For analytics and any marketing cookies. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can change at any time (see our Cookie Policy).
  • To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations, and to respond to lawful requests. Lawful basis: compliance with a legal obligation.

We do not carry out automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.

Who we share your information with

We share personal data only where necessary, with service providers who process it on our behalf under contract, and with others where the law allows or requires it:

  • The mechanics and personnel who carry out your booking.
  • Payment processing (Stripe), which handles card payments and subscriptions.
  • Identity and sign-in, mapping and location, and analytics services provided by Google.
  • Address lookup services used to find your address from a postcode.
  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers who run our systems.
  • Email and communications providers used to contact you.
  • Our professional advisers, and public authorities or law enforcement where we are legally required to disclose.
  • A buyer or successor if we sell or reorganise our business, subject to this policy.

International transfers

Some of our providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses, so that your data remains protected.

How long we keep it

We keep your personal data for as long as we need it for the purposes set out above, including to provide the service, manage your account, and meet our legal, tax and accounting requirements. When we no longer need it, we delete or anonymise it.

Your rights

Keeping your information secure

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit access to those who need it.

Children

Our service is intended for customers aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page, and where changes are significant we will take reasonable steps to let you know. The version published here is the version that applies.
