Mobile bike build · from £60.00

Bike build and assembly in London, at your door.

Bikes bought online arrive in a box, part-assembled, with the brakes and gears untouched since the factory. A mechanic unboxes and builds the bike at your home or workplace, sets everything up and test rides it, from £60.00 for a standard bike.

A new bike unboxed and built, brakes, gears and wheels set up, torqued and test ridden.

You pick standard bike, e-bike or cargo bike when you book, and the price for that type is what you pay.

Two or more bikes at the same address are one visit with one call-out fee.

Individual repairs can be booked for the same day, subject to availability, seven days a week across all 33 London boroughs.

A distance-based call-out fee can apply. It is free under 3 km from your nearest Tyred base and on orders of £150.00 or more, and it is shown before you pay.

Every repair and service price, listed by bike type, is on our prices page.

What is included

What a bike build includes

A build covers everything the box leaves undone.

  • Bike unboxed and built from the parts supplied
  • Handlebars, stem, seatpost, pedals and front wheel fitted
  • Brakes fitted and adjusted
  • Gears fitted and indexed
  • Wheels checked and the tyres inflated to the right pressure
  • Every bolt torqued to specification
  • Full safety check
  • Test ride before the bike is handed over

Not included

  • Conversion kits. We do not fit motor or battery kits to a bike.
  • Illegal e-bikes and illegal modifications.
  • Accessories not supplied with the bike, such as racks, mudguards or child seats. Mention them when you book and the mechanic confirms whether they can be fitted in the same visit and at what price.
When to book

When to book a bike build

A build is for any bike that arrives in a box.

  • A bike bought online

Direct-to-consumer brands ship bikes part-built with the brakes and gears unset. The build finishes the job the factory stopped.

  • A new e-bike

E-bikes are heavier, and the brakes, wheel fixings and motor cables need setting up correctly. The e-bike build is £70.00.

  • A cargo bike

Box bikes and longtails ship with more left to do, and the weight makes the first set-up matter. The cargo bike build is £70.00.

  • A child's bike before a birthday

Built and checked the day before, so the first ride is safe and the brake levers are set for small hands.

  • Several bikes at one address

A workplace order or a family delivery is built in one visit with one call-out fee.

Your mechanic

Built where it will be ridden

Torqued to spec, test ridden, handed over.

Tyred mechanics travel to you by cargo bike with a torque wrench, a track pump and the tools a build needs, so the bike goes together at your home or workplace and is ridden before it is handed over.

Each job is priced before you book. If the box turns out to be missing a part or a component arrives damaged, the mechanic tells you before going further rather than building around it.
